Ferne I. Lindell

Ferne I. Lindell, 84, of Geneseo, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017, at Hammond Henry Hospital in Geneseo, IL. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Geneseo. Reverend Laura Kamprath will officiate. Cremation will follow the funeral service, and inurnment will take place at the Rock Island National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday, prior to the funeral service at the church. Memorials may be left to the First Lutheran Church. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with these arrangements.

Ferne was born on January 4, 1933, the daughter of Burl L. and Margaret (Burtis) Deem, in Colona, IL. She was united in marriage to Dennis Lindell on October 10, 1954, in Colona. Ferne was a member of First Lutheran Church. She loved spending time with her sons and granddaughter! She enjoyed many a card game with her relatives and card-club family. She enjoyed traveling with her Classic Club friends as well as the many family vacations she went on through our beautiful country. Ferne was an avid Cubs fan, and endured a lot of “razzing” from friends and family for it!

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Alan (Lynn) Lindell, Geneseo, Jeff Lindell, Strongsville, OH, and Tim (Margaret McDowell) Lindell, Cary, NC; granddaughter, Melanie Lindell, Rochester, MN; and her brother, John Deem, Colona.

Ferne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dennis, sister, Madeline, and her brother, Pete.
