Frances B. Sleaford

Frances B. Sleaford, 83, of Sheffield, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Autumn Accolade Assisted Living Center in Green Valley, IL. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sheffield, IL. Reverend Mark Miller will celebrate. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Atkinson. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 13, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Atkinson Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the Frances Sleaford Memorial Fund, to be distributed among several local organizations.

Frances was born on June 26, 1935, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Standaert) DeBlock, in Kewanee, IL. She is a graduate of Kewanee High School. Frances was united in marriage to Frank R. Sleaford on April 7, 1956, in Kewanee. Frank preceded her in death in 2011. She was employed as a teller at the National Bank of Sterling for over 20 years. Frances later worked at Walmart in Princeton for 11 years. She was an active lifetime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Frances loved spending time with her family and attending all of their activities.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Dan (Linda) Sleaford, Manito, IL, grandchildren, Andrea (Kevin) McCann and Ryan(Kendra) Calvert, great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Kaydence, and Johnny, brother, Robert (Merrit) DeBlock, Streator, IL, sister, Dee Siemers, Kewanee, and sister-in-law, Carol Pattison, Oak Park, IL.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary, her husband Frank, and sister, Donna Junis.
