Franklin W. Shambaugh, 80, of Annawan, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2019, at Hammond Henry Hospital – Emergency Department, Geneseo. A memorial visitation will be held from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel. Cremation rites have been accorded. Private inurnment will follow at Annawan Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Abilities Plus, Kewanee.
Frank was born on October 8, 1938, the son of Charles and Catherine (McKenzie) Shambaugh, in Kewanee, IL. He attended Kewanee High School. He married Patricia A. DeConinck on August 15, 1957, in Booneville, MS. She preceded him in death in 2011. Frank was a journeyman electrical lineman, first with Farmers Mutual Electric Company, and then with the City of Geneseo from which he retired. He enjoyed restoring antique vehicles. He was a true fixer and repairman. He enjoyed his neighbors and neighborhood.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Laurie (Paul) Miller, Geneseo, Melinda (Butch) Haverland, Geneseo; sons, William Shambaugh, Silvis, Jamie Shambaugh, Geneseo; grandchildren, Jessica Hutchinson, Max (Meghan) Haverland, Mick Haverland, Michael Miller, and Sean Miller; great-grandchildren, Memphis and Tate; brother, Kenny (Mary Ellen) Shambaugh, Cambridge; sisters, Ellen Schmidt, Colfax, WI, Linda Redmond, Rockford, IL.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Patricia, and his brother Dean.
