Frederick W. Reiling

Frederick W. Reiling, 88, of Atkinson, passed away Sunday, May 28, at Hammond Henry Hospital in Geneseo. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 2^nd at 10:30 a.m. at Atkinson Congregational Church. Reverend Jacob Stansberry will officiate. Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery in rural Atkinson. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at  Vandemore Funeral Home in Atkinson. Memorials may be left to the Frederick Reiling Memorial Fund. Memorials will be distributed to several local organizations at a later date.

Frederick was born June 12, 1928, the son of Harold G. and Elizabeth Lee (Bowles) Reiling, in Port Byron, IL. He married Elvera M. Sears on February 15, 1948, in Atkinson, IL. Frederick was a lifetime farmer in rural Atkinson and a member of the Atkinson Congregational Church. He was a member of the Henry County Farm Bureau, a former Cornwall Township Road Commissioner, and former sexton of the Liberty Cemetery in rural Atkinson. Frederick was an avid tractor collector and enjoyed doing restorations on the tractors he collected. He was an accomplished woodworker, and enjoyed gardening and sharing his projects with his family & friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include, his wife, Elvera; son, Donald (Carol) Reiling of Atkinson; daughters, Sandra (Charles) Ullrick of Geneseo, and Rebecca (Michael) Pobanz of Geneseo; brother, Rodney Reiling of Geneseo; and sister, Marjorie (Myron) Naugle of Atkinson; nine grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Frederick was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Elizabeth, and his son, Steven Allen Reiling.
