Gary A. Talbot

Gary A. Talbot, 59, of Geneseo, IL, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 25, at 10:30 a.m. at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo Chapel. Reverend Terry Lancaster will officiate. Burial will follow at North Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 24, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Gary Talbot Memorial Fund.

Gary was born on February 7, 1959, the son of Kenneth A. and Helen (Batich) Talbot, in Geneseo. He graduated from Geneseo High School in 1977 and Sauk Valley Community College, in 1980. He married JoDell Singleton on May 27, 2007, in Moline, IL. Gary was in retail management at Farm and Fleet, Term City and Trendy Rentals. He enjoyed stock car racing, horse racing, and watching college football – especially the University of Utah. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Blackhawks fan. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, JoDell; son, Zach (Rachel), of Rock Falls, IL; step-sons, Dustin, Josh, Blake and Carson; three grandsons and one granddaughter; brothers, Kenneth (Annette) of Rock Island, IL, Joseph (Pamela), of Concord, NC, Mark, of Geneseo and Preston (Michelle), of Gurnee, IL. His sisters are, Mary Fisher, of Colona, IL, Karen (John) Lefman, of Kewanee, IL, Phyllis (William) Eggerichs, of Charlotte, NC, and Gail (Ron) Andrews, of Kewanee.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Helen; grandson, Brayden; and sisters, Elaine and Nancy.
