Genevieve Pauling Barton

Genevieve Pauling Barton, 89, of Geneseo, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Hillcrest Home in Geneseo, IL. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo. Burial will follow at the North Cemetery in Geneseo. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service, from 12:30-1:30 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the Genevieve Barton Memorial Fund.

Genevieve was born on February 9, 1929, the daughter of Francis Stanley and Anna Elizabeth (Lukowski) Budzik, in Downers Grove, IL. She was united in marriage to William Barton on December 29, 1951, in Downers Grove. William preceded her in death in 1994. Genevieve was a member of Mormon faith and attended the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Moline, IL. She was a member of the Relief Society and enjoyed scrapbooking and gardening.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Timothy J. Barton, CO, and Daniel (Janet) Barton, West Chicago, IL, and her daughter-in-law Diane Barton, Geneseo. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Anna, husband, William, eight sisters, and one great-grandchild.
