Jan K. Rink, 75, passed away Monday, February 25, 2019, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Vandemore Funeral Home and Crematory, Geneseo Chapel. Deacon Harley Chaffee will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo, IL. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Geneseo Humane Society.
Jan was born on March 20, 1943, the daughter of Clyde and Marjorie (Biddison) Johnson in Geneseo, IL. She married Bill L. Rink on June 14, 1961, in Geneseo. Jan was an interior decorator for many years, working for Bill VanVliete and Carl Mahler in the Geneseo area. She was a talented artist and sold her artwork for many years. She enjoyed antique collecting and was a fabulous knitter.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bill, of Davenport, IA; son, Scott (Diane) Rink of Marion, IA, daughters, Jennifer (Mike) O’Toole, of Grayslake, IL, and Jill (Tami) Domescik-Rink of Auburn, IL, son, Brad (Kenny Lawrence) Rink, of Cape Town, South Africa; brother, Mike (Delores) Johnson and sister, Ali (Curt) DeSplinter, both of Geneseo; six grandchildren, Taylor Rink, Alex (Chelsea) Rink, McKenzi and Emma Domescik-Rink, Hillary and Erin O’Toole, and three great-grandchildren, Manning, Madden, and Benjamin.
Jan was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Ashley (Rink) Merritts, her parents, Clyde and Marjorie Johnson, and brother, Greg Johnson.
