Karen L. Wieneke, 60, of Geneseo, passed away suddenly on December 26, 2017, at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado, while visiting her family. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo. Reverend Bruce Bergthold will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2nd, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Karen Wieneke Memorial Fund.
Karen was born on May 18, 1957, the daughter of Calvin and Jeanne (Anderson) Strother, in Moline, IL. She graduated from Moline High School. Karen was united in marriage to Larry A. Wieneke on April 16, 1977, in Moline. She worked as a homemaker during her life, raising her children, Julie and Jason. Karen enjoyed cooking & baking, which she especially loved to do with her grandchildren. She also loved to decorate for the holidays. Karen was a collector of Isabelle Bloom statues.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Larry, her son, Jason (Julie Linville) Wieneke, Davenport, IA, daughter, Julie (Kevin) Baugh, Conifer, CO, grandchildren, Melanie and Alayna Baugh, sister, Linda (Tom) Dundon, Cleveland, OH, and three nephews, Tommy, Chris, and Ryan Dundon.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Jeanne.
