Lisa M. McCann, 59, of Geneseo, passed away peacefully with her siblings at her side on July 14, 2017 at the Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa after a year-long courageous battle with cancer.  A visitation to celebrate her life will be held at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory in Geneseo from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on July 18, 2017.  A memorial service will also be at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory on July 19 at 10:30 a.m.  Burial will be in North Cemetery, Geneseo. Lisa was born in Geneseo, Illinois on August 14,1957 to Edward and Betty (Gernant) McCann.  She graduated from Geneseo High School in 1975.  She worked in the banking industry her entire life, spending the past 30 plus years as a conversion analyst for Fiserv.  Lisa enjoyed life to the fullest.  She loved spending time with friends and family. She was a Bears, Yankees, Cubs, Fighting Illini and NASCAR fan.  Her back door was always open to anyone who wanted to come by to visit.  The TV in her kitchen was always on, and if not tuned in to a sporting event, was dialed into the Food Network.  She raised several Schnauzers over the years, and will be missed by her little buddy Linus.

Lisa is survived by her sister Patricia and friend, Steve Walker, Geneseo, brothers Ed (Michele), Cedar Falls, Iowa and Steve (Heidi Parkhurst), Coal Valley, Illinois; five nieces and nephews, Cade and Madison McCann, Cedar Falls, Alison Tomczak (Doug), Naperville, Illinois, Michael McCann, Moline, Illinois and Darby Finnegan and friend Tyler Pitlik, also of Moline; and her special great-niece and nephew Sadie and Owen Tomczak, Naperville, who always referred to her as “Aunt Lisa”.  She is also survived by a fantastic circle of friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff at Dr. Garneau’s office and to the wonderful staff at Clarissa Cook for making Lisa’s last days on this earth so comfortable.
