Lois Marie Robb, 79, of Moline, formerly of Geneseo, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018 at First Congregational Church in Moline, IL. Reverend Michael Schwartz will officiate. Private burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Geneseo. Visitation will take place on Sunday, November 18, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo Chapel, additional visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church, prior to the funeral service on Monday. Memorials may be directed to the Lois Robb Memorial Fund.
Lois was born on November 27, 1938, the daughter of George and Luella (Goerne) Gahm, in Streator, IL. She graduated from Streator High School and received her degree in nursing at Methodist School of Nursing in Peoria, IL. Lois was united in marriage to James W. Robb on March 31, 1959. They later divorced and James preceded her in death in 2004. Lois was a nurse at the Brokaw Hospital in Bloomington-Normal, IL. In 1976, Lois and her family moved to Geneseo, and she became a nurse at Family Medical Association, as well as working part-time at Hammond Henry Hospital, retiring after 30 years. During her time in school, Lois was very proud to have been a part of the Streator High School synchronized swimming team! She is a long-time member of Tops and Red Hat Society. She enjoyed dancing, sewing, and spending time in her flower garden. Lois loved spending time traveling with her long-time companion, Larry. She will be very missed by her beloved cat, Molly.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Susan Clary, of Morrison, IL, Sheri (Dave) Emmert, of Sycamore, IL, and Sally ( John) Heggeland, of Naperville, IL; nine grandchildren, brother, Richard Gahm, of Hamilton, OH, and sister, Elsie VonKerens, of Lockport, IL. Lois is also survived by her fiancé, Larry Gillam, of Moline, IL. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, George and Luella.
