Lura L. (Williams) Bartley

Lura L. Bartley, 76, of Cambridge, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at Marigold Rehab and Health Care Center, in Galesburg, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Vandemore Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lura was born on December 22, 1940, in Peoria, IL, the daughter of Shelby and Ruby (Clark) Williams. She graduated from high school and married Howard W. Bartley on August 22, 1958, in Kingston Mines, IL. He preceded her in death on June 10, 2017. Lura was employed by the Pekin Insurance Company, in the claims department and she retired after 25 years. Lura enjoyed quilting, painting and working in her flower garden. She and Howard spent much time together in Florida. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

Those left to cherish Lura’s memory include her daughters, Lynn (Dan) Cole, Geneseo, Annette Bartley, Pekin, IL and Janice (Scott) Muzzarelli, Normal, IL. Her grandchildren are Ryan Cole and Valerie DeReu, and she has five great-grandchildren.

Lura was preceded in death by her husband, Howard and her parents, Shelby and Ruby.
