Michael F. Werner

Michael F. Werner, 67, of Geneseo, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2019, at his residence.  A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel.  Cremation rites have been accorded, inurnment will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019, at Roselawn Memory Garden, Moline.  Military honors will be provided by the Moline American Legion.  Memorial visitation will be held Thursday, June 6, 2019, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to the Michael F. Werner Memorial Fund.

Michael was born on August 29, 1951, the son of Jerome and Mardell (Hodgins) Werner, in Moline.  He married Vicki Enyeart in 1971, then later married Susan Miller on September 28, 1995.  He was employed as a mechanic at Auto Acres and 2 & 92.  Michael served his country proudly in the United States Army.  He enjoyed fishing and cars, especially Volkswagens.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Susan; sons, Michael (Sharon) Werner, Jr., Campton Hills, IL, and Scott Werner, Hamburg, Germany; grandchildren, Sarah and Ashley Werner, and Henricke Werner; brothers, James (Cherie) Werner, East Moline, IL, Robert (Rose) Werner, East Moline, Daniel (Carolyn) Werner, Geneseo, Paul Werner, Geneseo, and Kenneth (Teresa) Werner, Geneseo; sisters, Mary Ann (James) Clifton, Geneseo, Sandra (Johnny) Dell, Sacramento, CA, Janet (Paul) Vanderschaaf, Geneseo, Ellen (Kenny) Drehman, Geneseo, and Margaret (Mike) Godsil, Papillion, NE.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Mardell.
