Norma Dilts

Norma Dilts, 88, of Geneseo passed away Monday, June 26, 2017, at Woodridge Supportive Living Center in Geneseo. A funeral service will be Friday, June 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory in Geneseo. Deacon Harley Chaffee will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Geneseo. Visitation will be Thursday, June 29, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Geneseo Senior Citizens’ Center.

Norma was born on October 27, 1928, in Princeton, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Margaret (Hickey) McGonigle, and Nayne and James Boyland. She attended Princeton, IL schools and the Academy of Our Lady in Peoria, IL. Norma married Robert L. Dilts on July 10, 1948.  In the early ’60s, Norma and Bob opened Bob Dilts TV, a Magnavox dealership & TV-stereo repair business. They later expanded into music with a record shop, offering albums, 8-tracks, and cassettes. After Bob’s death in 1977, Norma continued the business through 1987. She was a member of Women of the Moose, loved to play bingo and to spend time with her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren.

Her pride and joy were her daughters and three grandsons - Jaimie, Kevin, and Ryan “Pudge.” Her great-grandsons, Kyle and Jack, treated her like a queen. She was so thrilled when, only two weeks ago, a third great-grandchild, Jade Cheryl, was born.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Rhoni (Zach) Perrine of Geneseo, and Linda (Harry) Sellers of Geneseo; and son-in-law, John (Carla) Edwards of Geneseo. Her three grandsons are Jamie (Cory) Sellers, Kevin (Jenna) Sellers, and Ryan “Pudge” (fiancé Brooke VanderSnick) Sellers. Her great-grandchildren are Kyle Sellers, Jack Sellers, and Jade Cheryl Sellers.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents, daughter Cheryl J. “Tudi” Edwards, sister Mary Cresto and brother Don McGonigle.
