Orphy T. Kinkade, 87, of Geneseo, formerly of Colona, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 28, 2019, at Colona United Methodist Church, Colona, IL. Reverend Mark Horn will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel. Memorial may be directed to Colona United Methodist Church.
Orphy was born on January 5, 1932, the daughter of Rudolph and Agnes (Troldahl) Laingen, in Hanska, MN. She attended United Township High School. She married Richard Z. Kinkade, and he preceded her in death in 1987. She later married Paul Shuhert, and he preceded her in death in 2012. Orphy was employed by John Deere as a shipping clerk until her retirement. She was a volunteer at Trinity Hospice for over 30 years. She was an active member of Colona United Methodist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Kathleen (Glenn) Stafford, Mitchell, SD, and Sally (Harry) Blackwell, Neponset, IL; step-daughter, Donna (Jim) Nelson, Hillsdale, IL; sons, Dale (Nipa) Dobereiner, Austin , TX, Jerry (Susan) Lee, Colona, IL, and Randy (Christine) Kinkade, Naperville, IL; step-son, Gary (Jan) Kinkade, Port Byron, IL; ten grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; sister, Cheryl (Orville) Parnell, Davenport, IA; and sister-in-law, Jane Laingen, Geneseo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Richard Kinkade and Paul Shuhert, brother, Rudy Laingen, sisters, Arlene Laingen and Bonnie Yeater.
