Patricia L. Anderson

Patricia L. Anderson, 79, of Geneseo, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at Unity Point Health- Trinity Rock Island.  Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at First Lutheran Church, Geneseo. Reverend Matt Kamprath will officiate.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at Vandemore Funeral Home and Crematory, Geneseo Chapel.  Memorials may be directed to the Patricia L. Anderson Memorial Fund.

Patricia was born December 19, 1939, the daughter of Otto and Martha (Peterson) Koester, in Rock Island, IL.  She graduated from Rock Island High School, in 1957.  She married Donald Anderson on July 27, 1957, in Rock Island, IL.  Patricia was an LPN at Hammond Henry Hospital Long Term Care, and also while living in Arizona. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Geneseo. She loved music and singing, especially at church events. Patricia was an avid golfer, she loved playing piano, crafting and enjoyed spending time with her loving family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Don; her three daughters, Kathryn (Jim) Heller, Kari (Gene) Gentry, and Kristine (Jim) VanVooren,  all of Geneseo; her son, Lonnie (Cathy) Anderson of Geneseo; eight grandchildren, Sarah (Brian) Hofer, Brad (Sheryl) Heller, Joshua Anderson, Karalee Wasserman, Aaron (Sarah) VanVooren, Travis VanVooren, Emily Gentry, and Ethan Gentry; ten great-grandchildren; and two brothers; Larry Koester of Milan, IL and Gary (Sandy) Koester of Rock Island, IL.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters.
