Kathy, Heather, Megan and families: I have so many great memories from years ago when we were all much younger and Jim was a big, strappin' ball player. Oh, the home runs that guy could hit! We raised our kids in that Richmond Hill ballpark and had so many fun times. My heart hurts for you all and hope that the many memories will sustain you going forward. The world lost a wonderful and loving man. May he now rest in heaven.

Kathy and family, I am so very sad to read of Jim's passing. Kathy, I've always thought of you as one of the most positive people I knew in high school! I laughed, smiled and cried when I watched the slide show. What great pictures of your times together. The video brought us smiles, laughter and tears. Then we thought about Jim being able to tell his stories again without hindrance, teaching smaller angels how to hit and perhaps demonstrating how he belts it over a fence--EVERY time! You lived life well, Jim Cross, and loved even better. We will miss you and we hurt for your family, but thoughts of you will always make us smile.

Jim was my first softball coach. A nice, caring man who helped me learn the game. I have always remembered him fondly from those days out at Bollen Field. Such good times! My condolences to you all on the loss of such a wonderful man. I know he will be missed by many.
