Sharon J. DeJaeger

Sharon J. DeJaeger, 78, of Geneseo, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Genesis East in Davenport, IA. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, September 29, 2017 at First Lutheran Church, Geneseo at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Matt Kamprath will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenview Memorial Gardens in Silvis, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, Geneseo. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with these arrangements.

Sharon was born on December 5, 1938, the daughter of Carl and Perry Johnson in Moline, IL. She graduated from Moline High School and attended the University of Illinois. Sharon was united in marriage to Gerald R. DeJaeger on September 21, 1957, celebrating one day short of 60 years together. She was a member of Le Vieux Grenier Antique Club (Questers International), and collected many artifacts. Sharon loved cooking and traveling. She especially enjoyed traveling to Spain.

Those left to cherish Sharon’s memory include, her husband, Gerald, her sons, Kevin (Kathy) DeJaeger, Geneseo, and Kenneth (Joy) DeJaeger, Norwalk, CT, and her daughter, Kathleen DeJaeger, Geneseo. Her grandchildren are Darren, Tara, Tes, and Mia, and her great-grandchildren are Benjamin, Shae, and Aiden. Sharon is also survived by her sisters, Suzie (Bob) Pheiffer, Spring Hill, KS, and Sandy (Dick) Blomberg, Mt. Home, AK.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Perry.
