Sharon J. Peer

Sharon J. Peer, 78, of Geneseo, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Unity Point Health-Trinity, in Bettendorf, IA. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo Chapel. Reverend Jeff French will officiate.  Burial will follow at Western Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2018, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Faith Baptist Church in Geneseo.

Sharon was born on November 30, 1939, the daughter of John V. and Marjorie (Huston) Schnepf. Sharon was united in marriage to Donald R. Peer on July 11, 1959, in Coal Valley, IL. Donald preceded her in death in 2003. She worked as a homemaker for many years. Sharon was a lifetime member of Faith Baptist Church in Geneseo and a proud member of the Bishop Hill Historical Society. She loved socializing with her family and friends, and especially enjoyed spending time with her companion dog and love, Raijeanea.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Daniel Peer, of Birmingham, AL, daughter, Patti (Todd Grell)  Kowitz, of Calamus, IA, six grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marjorie, husband, Donald, and a sister, Ruth.
