Wendy Lynn Thompson

Wendy Lynn Thompson, 48, of Geneseo, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at the Methodist Hospital-Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18, at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo Chapel. Private funeral services for the family will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the Wendy L. Thompson Memorial Fund.

Wendy was born on July 20, 1970, the daughter of Larry J. and Linda C. (Monkus) Gull, in Moline, IL. She graduated from Geneseo High School with the class of 1988 and attended Western Illinois University, where she received a degree in sociology. Wendy was united in marriage to Trevor M. Thompson on June 27, 2005. She was employed as the branch manager of Alside Inc. in Rock Island, IL, for 25 years. Wendy enjoyed shopping, going boating, and visiting the ocean and beaches. Most of all, Wendy loved being a mother, and she centered her life around her two sons. She loved going to watch them play sports and was so proud of their talents.

Those left to cherish her memory include husband, Trevor; two sons, Daniel and Dennis Thompson; her father, Larry (Andrea) Gull, of East Moline, and mother, Linda (Randy) Mullin, of Geneseo. Wendy is also survived by her sisters, Heather (Rick) Farrell, of Geneseo, and Ashley Gull, of Chicago; step-siblings, Melissa Mayers, of Moline, and Tim (Tracey) Pettit, of East Moline, Gregory (Lisa) Mullin, of Ogden, UT, and Ginger (Douglas Hovel) Mullin, of Lincoln, IL; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mark and Lenna Thompson, of Delhi, IA; along with several nieces and nephews.
