Willie Z. Cleveland, 70, of Geneseo, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Genesis Medical Center. Silvis. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2019, at First United Methodist Church in Geneseo. Reverend Dr. Chris Ritter will officiate. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory-Geneseo Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church Matthew 25 Fund.
Willie was born on June 26, 1949, in Chicago, IL, the son of Leslie and Elizabeth (Adams) Cleveland. Willie was united in marriage to Teri Creamer, in 2014, at First United Methodist Church in Geneseo. Willie worked as a cook for the Deck and the Cellar in Geneseo. He enjoyed cooking and watching football, especially the Chicago Bears.
Survivors include his wife, Teri; his son, David Buford; three daughters, Angela Cleveland, Lawanda Cleveland, and Delilah Cleveland; one brother, Alfred (Doris) Flower of Memphis, TN; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; stepdaughter, Christina (Nick) Bougus; step-sons, Johnathon Creamer, and Ronald Brown III; brother-in-law, Bernard Creamer; and sister-in-law Michelle Creamer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Leslie, sister, Eleanor Cleveland, three brothers, Leslie, Gregory, and Stanford Cleveland and one sister-in-law, Pamela.
