Wilma M. Gombert

Wilma M. Gombert, 90, of Geneseo, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019, at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo.  Per the decedent’s request, cremation rites have been accorded.  Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Cross Lutheran Church Cemetery, Yorkville, IL.  Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel is assisting the family.  Memorials may be directed to any charity, in memory of Wilma.

Wilma was born May 6, 1929, the daughter of Julius and Elizabeth (Lorenzen) Bidner, in Mansfield, IL.  She attended Mansfield and Bellflower schools.  William J. Wallen and Wilma were married in 1946.  She then married Kenneth Gombert in 1966.  Kenneth preceded her in death in 1997.  Wilma was a member of Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Daniel (Carolyn) Wallen, Decatur, IL; stepson, Kenneth (Charleen) Gombert, JR, Lutz, FL; son-in-law, Charles Tieken; two grandsons; one granddaughter; one step-granddaughter; three great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents Julius and Elizabeth, her husband, Kenneth, her daughter, Nancy Tieken, two brothers, and three sisters.
