Adrianna Kleckner Obituary

Adrianna M. Kleckner, 88, of Annawan, IL, formerly of Hooppole, IL, died February 18, 2025, at Manor Court in Liberty Village, Princeton, Illinois. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Annawan, IL.  Reverend S. Stephen Engelbrecht will celebrate.  Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.  A visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the Mass of Christian Burial with a Recitation of the Rosary will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Atkinson Chapel will be assisting the family with arrangements.  Memorials may be directed to the Annawan – Alba Library, 200 North Meadow Lane, Suite 2, Annawan, IL, 61234.

Adrianna was born September 14, 1936, in Morrison, IL, to Vernon L. Sr. and Alice R. (Pratt) Blackert. She graduated from Annawan High School and Sterling Beauty School. She married Donavon Kleckner on April 14, 1956, at Sacred Heart in Annawan, IL. He died on May 13, 2004. Adrianna worked as a beautician in Kewanee and Annawan before opening her own salon, Adria’s Beauty Shop, in Hooppole, IL. Adrianna was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Annawan and served as a member of the Altar and Rosary Society for many years. She was also a member of Cursillo. Adrianna volunteered at the local Food Pantry and Election Board. She was also a member of the Annawan-Alba Women’s Club, a card club, a book club, and was an avid quilter, sewer, baker, and reader. Adrianna shared her love and talents with her family, friends, and community.

Survivors include siblings Ralph Blackert of Geneseo, IL; Walter Blackert of Mineral, IL; Linda Billiet of Winter Haven, FL; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Alice Blackert, Sr., her loving husband, Donavon; two brothers, Vernon “Red” Blackert Jr. and Gerald Blackert, four sisters-in-law, Betty Blackert, Mary Ann Blackert, Joyce Blackert, and Rita Blackert; one niece, Pamela Kostner and two nephews, Kirk Blackert and Shawn Blackert; and one great-nephew, Noah DeRycke.
