Alexander W. Fleming

Alexander W. Fleming, 41, of Geneseo, IL, passed away on November 7, 2023, at his home with family. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023, from 2-5 PM at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory-Geneseo Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023, at Concordia Lutheran Church-Geneseo with Rev. Stephen Mueller officiating. He will be laid to rest at North Cemetery-Geneseo. Alex was born in Geneseo on July 28, 1982, the son of Daniel and Martha (Wisely) Fleming. He graduated from Geneseo H.S. Class of 2001. Alex worked as a machinist at Springfield Armory. He loved doing yardwork around town for elderly people that needed help. He also loved cooking on his smoker for all his friends and family. Alex enjoyed traveling to concerts and hanging out with his friend’s watching bands like the Grateful Dead, Phish and Taylor Swift. He loved watching his beloved New York Yankees and Giants. He was an honorary member of the Geneseo VFW Auxiliary and member of Concordia Lutheran Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are parents, Daniel (Martha) Fleming of Geneseo, siblings; Adam (Heidi) Fleming of Geneseo, Joshua (Jennefer) Fleming of Monks Corner, SC and Jonathon (Renee) Fleming of Ames, IA, aunts; Karen Wisely, Violet Fleming and Ruth Fleming, uncles, Rodney Wisely and Bill (Marsha) Fleming along with several nieces and nephews.
