Anthony "Tony" Johnson

Anthony “Tony” Johnson, 75, of Kewanee, IL, passed away on December 29, 2024, at his home. Cremation rites are being accorded with Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory- Geneseo Chapel. A graveside service for Tony will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Lyndon Cemetery-Lyndon, IL, with Pastor Terry Lancaster officiating. Tony was born on November 4, 1949, the son of Edwin and Henrietta (Lussmyer) Johnson. He graduated from Lyndon High School Class of 1967. He married and later divorced before marrying Dixie Headley, she survives. Tony worked at Whiteside FS, Poplar Grove, WI FS, floor care at Kewanee Hospital and Whiteside County before retiring in 2011. He loved playing baseball in his youth and had a great fastball. Later in life he played slow pitch softball.

Those left to cherish his memory are wife, Dixie Johnson of Kewanee, children; Chad (Megan) Johnson of Cambridge, Eric (Holly) Johnson of Atkinson, Christine (Bob) Glogowski of Rockford, Seth Rogers of Rockford, Deanna (Jeff) Gibbs of Tiskilwa and Steven Dormand of Maryland, brother, Neil Johnson of Lyndon and 7 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Henrietta Johnson, wives, Carol Emo and Kathy Keim, son, Aaron Johnson, brother, Edward Johnson and sisters, Anne Starr and Judy Paceley.
