Arlene M. (Kemerling) Gray

Arlene M. Gray, 99, of Kewanee, IL, passed away on July 18, 2024, at Hammond Henry Hospital-Geneseo. A graveside service for Arlene will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Neponset Cemetery-Neponset, IL. Pastor David Pendergrass will officiate. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Marvin at Neponset Cemetery. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory-Atkinson Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Arlene was born on July 2, 1925, in Neponset, IL, the daughter of Russell and Marie (Noe) Kemerling. She married Marvin Gray on March 6, 1942, and he preceded her in death in 1996. She was a homemaker and had a love for baking, especially wedding cakes. Arlene loved tending to her garden and spending time with her family. She was a woman of faith and attended Hill Church in Kewanee.

Those left to cherish her memory are son, Dan (Doreen) Gray of Kewanee, sister, Bonnie Norin of Neponset, 4 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Marlyn Gray.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Marie Kemerling, husband, Marvin Gray, infant son, Daniel Gray, son, James Gray, daughter, Starr Lorraine Gray and siblings; Roy Kemerling, Arthur Kemerling, Maye Verbout, Julie Reames and Ruth Morrow.
