Barbara June Bauer

Barbara June Bauer, 83, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Hammond Henry Hospital, Geneseo, IL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at St. Malachy Catholic Church. Father Daniel Gifford will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo, IL. The service may be found live at https://www.facebook.com/vandemorefuneralhomes. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, April 26, 2021, at Vandemore Funeral Homes – Geneseo Chapel. Recitation of the Rosary will be held after visitation at 7 p.m.

Barbara was born on May 1, 1937, the daughter of Paul Delmar and Ethel Lucille (Beeler) Lane, in Clinton, IL. Barbara attended the Clinton Illinois School System and graduated in 1955. She attended Illinois State University in Normal, IL, and graduated in 1962 with a Bachelor’s degree and in 1968 with a Master's degree in English and History. Barbara married the love of her life, Mark Bauer, on December 20, 1969, in Sterling, IL. Together they raised two daughters. Barbara enjoyed bible studies, traveling and going on cruises. She was also an avid reader.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Mark Bauer, Geneseo; daughters, Kathryn (Steve) Klineman, Salem, WI, and Susan Henning, Geneseo; and grandson, Patrick (Dina) Klineman, El Paso, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Ethel; sister, Francis Lane; and brother, Paul Delmar Lane.
