Barbara Boone Obituary

Barbara J. Boone, 75, of Geneseo, formerly of Alaska, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at her home.  Cremation rites have been accorded and services will be held at a later date in Alaska.  Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memorials may be directed to the Henry County Humane Society – Geneseo at 14606 Roos Hill Road, Geneseo, IL, 61254.

 

Barbara was born on October 29, 1945, the daughter of Clayton and Mary (Dorland) Williams, in Wahoo, NE.  She graduated from Geneseo High School, class of 1963.  She attended Kennedy College in Nebraska.  On April 12, 1973, she married Jack Boone.  They later divorced on December 15, 1989.  She was employed as a social worker for the United States Government.  She was a member of the Muldoon Assembly of God, located in Alaska.  She attended BSF bible study fellowship in both Alaska and Illinois.  She enjoyed quilting retreats and outings, gardening, cooking, and her two dogs, Bella and Nugget.  She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. 

 

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Jennifer (Kristian) Dempsey, Geneseo, IL, and Jacquie Boone, Anchorage, AK; grandchildren, Megan Matheson, Mary Matheson, Melanie Matheson, Shelby Filley, and Hayden Boone; great-grandchildren, Liam Doxsee, Harper Reese, Gracelyn Reese, Samuel Reese, Dustin McElroy, and Hailey McElroy.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Mary; ex-husband, Jack; and brother, Larry Williams.
