Bernadine Ruth (Crawford) Figurin

Bernadine Ruth Figurin, 78, of Sheffield, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021, at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo, IL.  A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Atkinson Chapel.  Reverend Terry Lancaster will officiate.  A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., prior to the funeral service on Thursday.  Memorials may be directed to the Mineral Fire Department and Tampico Fire and Rescue.

Bernadine was born in Taylor Ridge on March 19, 1943, the daughter of William Marcus and Mabel (Gaston) Crawford.  She graduated from Reynolds High School.  She married Tony Figurin at a service in Edginton, IL, in 1961.   Bernadine was a member of the Jolly Jellybean Brunch Club, enjoyed gardening, and loved cooking for family and friends.  She treasured spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Tony; son, Roger (Lynn) Figurin; daughter, Denise (Mark) Axel; grandchildren, Erica (Zach) Leigh, Adam (Katie) Figurin, Emma (Jacob) Axel, Anna (Tom) Ross, Adam (Amanda) Axel; three sisters, Dorothy Grover (Reedsburgh, WI), Mary (Ken) Iverson (Taylor Ridge, IL), Charlene Theisen (Rockford, IL); one brother-in-law, Alex Strandguard (Coal Valley, IL); and many nieces, nephews. 

She was predeceased by her parents, William and Mabel; six sisters, Zylphia (Bob) Collen, Betty (Jim) Lovell, Myrtle (Don) Stewart, Alberta (Rodney) Rosso, Miona (Wayne) Peterson, Harriett Standguard; and two brothers-in-law Ned Grover and Vernon Theisen.
