Beverly Verheye

Beverely A. Verheye, 97, of Geneseo, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Allure of Knox County, Galesburg, IL.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 1, 2023, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, at St. Malachy Catholic Church.  Father Daniel Gifford will officiate.  The Ritual of the Order of the Eastern Star will be performed.  Burial will follow at North Cemetery, Geneseo.  Memorials may be directed to the St. Malachy Catholic Church.

Beverly was born on January 14, 1926, in Annawan, IL, the daughter of Edith Haxby.  She worked assembly for over twenty-one years at General Electric.  Beverly married Robert Verheye on April 17, 1953, in Geneseo and he preceded her in death in 2021. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Geneseo VFW, and St. Malachy Catholic Church.  Her hobbies included spending time with family and friends, ceramics, and crocheting. 

Those left to cherish her memory include grandchildren; Jeremy Verheye and Morgan (Destiny) Verheye, great grandchildren; Codi (Justin) Hannabarger and Natalia Verheye.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Verheye, sons; Bobby and Jerry Verheye, brother, Donald Whitted and sister, Janet Williams.
