Billy Gene Morrison, 82, of Atkinson, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA. Cremation rites have been accorded and a private graveside service will be held for the family. Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Atkinson Chapel will be assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, 2546 Tech Drive, Bettendorf, IA 52722.
Billy was born April 4, 1941, the son of Thomas Felix and Effie (Shirey) Morrison, in Guin, AL. He graduated from Winfield High School, class of 1959. On June 22, 1963, he married Wanda Hazel. He later married Frances Morrison, she preceded him in death. Billy was employed as a line worker for John Deere, until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, watching baseball, and loved John Deere tractors.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Diane Morrison of Bettendorf, Debbie (Jim) Windsor of Atkinson, and Cindy (Glenn) Pope of Viola; grandchildren, Eric (Cait) Windsor, Adam Windsor, Abby Pope, Brett Pope, and Maggie Pope; great-grandchildren, Henry Windsor and Teddy Windsor; and first wife, Wanda Morrison.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Effie Morrison; second wife, Frances Morrison; brother, Edwin Morrison; and by his faithful companion, Sammy.
