Bonnie Jean Jarvis (Hauch), 73, of Geneseo, IL, went to be with the Lord in Iowa City, IA on June 12, 2023, due to complications from a recent illness. Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at First Methodist Church, located at 302 N State Street, Geneseo, IL. Reverend Dr. Chris Ritter will officiate. Burial will at Spring Creek Cemetery in rural Atkinson, located at North 2120th Ave. and East 1950th St. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service, at the church. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in her honor to First Methodist Church or Compassion International.
Bonnie was born in Rockford, IL on October 15, 1949, the daughter of Henry W. Hauch and Viola Hauch (Wolfe). Bonnie graduated high school from Auburn High School in Rockford, IL in 1967, and worked as a secretary and assistant to a chaplain prior to becoming a full-time mother and homemaker.
Bonnie was married to Howard M. Jarvis in 1972, and they celebrated 50 years recently. Bonnie was a wonderfully dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother with a kind, gentle, and loving spirit; always willing to help others, or create wonderful scrapbooking and greeting card gifts. She was an active member of the First Methodist Church in Geneseo, IL and enjoyed serving and helping people find Jesus and his grace.
She is survived by her husband, Howard M Jarvis, sister, Kitty Ruthe, brother/sister-in-law, Henry and Ana Hauch, sister-in-law, Elaine Pease, son/daughter-in-law/grandson Joel, Dana, and Jett Jarvis, daughter, Jennifer Jarvis, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Some of her greatest joys in life were her children and grandchild, as well as her nieces and nephews, which she adored and spoiled rotten in so many ways.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and three nephews Matt Ruthe, Mark Ruthe, and Paul Pease.
