Burdette J. Floming

Burdette J. Floming, 80, of Geneseo, IL, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on March 11, 2023, at Allure of Geneseo. Per his wishes he will be cremated, and no services will be held. Burdette will be laid to rest with his wife Delores at Oakwood Cemetery-Geneseo. Burdette was born on July 24, 1942, in Atkinson, IL, the son of Joe and Frances (DeCausemaker) Floming. He married Delores Castle on January 21, 1978, and she preceded him in death on October 11, 2020. Surviving them are daughter Kandace (Bill) Rubrecht of Geneseo; stepsons, Jack (Chris) Palmer of Milan and Joe (Kathy) Palmer of Davenport; grandchildren, Ethan Rubrecht, Matt Palmer, and Jill Palmer.

He graduated from Atkinson High School and served in the United States Army National Guard. He retired from John Deere Harvester Works-East Moline. Burdette’s favorite pastime was visiting other Deere retirees at McDonald’s in Geneseo.

Also surviving him are three daughters, Catherine F. Sommer, Ronelle J. Roselieb and Charlene R. Brants; brother, Dewey (Karen) Floming; and sister, Sally Floming.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Frances Floming; and wife, Delores Floming.
