Burgess Fitzpatrick

Burgess Fitzpatrick, 75, of Atkinson, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Hammond Henry Hospital – Geneseo. Private family services will be held. Vandemore Funeral Homes and Crematory – Atkinson Chapel will be assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. Burgess Fitzpatrick was born in Louisa, KY on March 14, 1949, the son of Daniel and Dixie (Brenham) Fitzpatrick. He graduated high school in Kentucky, and proudly served in the United States Air Force. He married Sharon Longeville on May 24, 1994. She survives. Burgess was employed at the Atkinson Landfill for 30 years. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan and followed them in March Madness yearly. He also enjoyed gardening, mushroom hunting, fishing, and sitting on his deck after a long day.

Those left to cherish his memory include wife, Sharon of Atkinson, IL; children, Christy (Robert) Nice, Luke Fitzpatrick, Catherine (Terry) Sommers, Charlene (Bob) Brants, and Ronelle (Wes) Roselieb; brothers, David Fitzpatrick and Randall Fitzpatrick; and sister Marylou Fitzpatrick; grandchildren, Macy, Darryn, Elizabeth, John, Sara, Bailey, Blake, Dustin and Dayna; and several great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Dixie Fitzpatrick; brothers, Dwight Fitzpatrick, Raymond Fitzpatrick, and Delbert Fitzpatrick.
