Carol J. Noard

Carol J. Noard, 83, of Geneseo, formerly of Atkinson, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2019, at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2019, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Geneseo.  Reverend S. Stephen Mueller will officiate.  Burial will follow at North Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2019, from 2-5 p.m. at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Atkinson Chapel.  Memorials may be directed to the Care Committee at Concordia Lutheran Church.

Carol was born on August 11, 1935, the daughter of Earl and Meta (Neuleib) Noard, in Kewanee.  She graduated from Atkinson High School, class of 1953.  She attended Moline Lutheran School of Nursing, graduating in 1956, as a registered nurse.  She spent her entire nursing career at Hammond Henry Hospital and was the supervisor of the surgery and emergency room departments for over 30 years.  Carol has been a faithful servant to Our Lord and attended Concordia Lutheran Church.  She served as the parish nurse and was active with the Care Committee.  She enjoyed delivering gift baskets to newborns.  She had been past President of the Atkinson Woman’s Club.  Carol enjoyed lunches with her Neuleib cousins, retired hospital workers, Atkinson Class of 1953, and Golden Girls Birthday Group.  She was an avid football fan, especially for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Those left to cherish her memory include her brothers, David (Joy) Noard, Geneseo, Galen (Jane) Noard, Hennepin, IL; sister-in-law, Carol Noard Diericx, Geneseo; and proudly served as “Auntie” to Kyle, Nathan, Ty, Lance, Troy, Jade, Taul, Renee Noard, Rhonda Erickson, Tara Clark, Lisa Berhorst; and 25 great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Keith Noard, and nephew Clint Noard.
