Carolyn Joan Oldfield

Carolyn Joan Oldfield, 87, of Geneseo, IL, passed away on August 3, 2026, at Allure of Geneseo.  A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Monday, August 10, 2026 at Vandemore Funeral Home – Geneseo Chapel, 580 E. Ogden Ave.  Visitation will be held from 10 am to 11 at the funeral home, preceding the service.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Geneseo, IL.

Carolyn was born on November 22, 1938, in Geneseo, IL, the daughter of Walter and Katherine (VanHerzeele) VanDeKeere. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Nauvoo, IL in 1956.  Carolyn married Darrell Oldfield on November 23, 1957.  She spent many years working as a teller at Central Bank and as manager of The Deck Plaza Restaurant.

Carolyn was a member of St. Malachy’s Catholic Church and Garden Club.  She enjoyed square dancing, playing bridge, and traveling the world.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Darrell of Geneseo, IL; sisters, Marilyn Vandemore, of St. Louis, MO, whose husband, Bill, preceded her in death; Ann (Ed) Hedbloom of Spartanburg, SC; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.   

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Malachy’s Catholic Church.
