Catherine S. "Cathy" Clark

Catherine S. “Cathy” Clark, 60, of Geneseo, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA, surrounded by her loving family. A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 30, at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo Chapel. Reverend Steve Clark will officiate. Private burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery on Monday, December 31. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, prior to the celebration of life service, at the funeral home in Geneseo. Memorials may be directed to the Cathy Clark Memorial Fund, and will be distributed among several charitable organizations.

Cathy was born on May 28, 1958, the daughter of Eldon and Lucille (Hartman) Ellis, in Geneseo, IL. She is a graduate of Geneseo High School. Cathy was united in marriage to the love of her life, Kurt J. Clark, on March 20, 1976, in Geneseo. She was a bus driver for PINKS Bus Service in Geneseo for 28 years. Cathy enjoyed playing cards with her sisters and shopping with her grandchildren, and was known to visit the casino from time to time. She loved the sun and could be found laying out by the pool or boating in the Ozarks during the summer. She is remembered as an avid giver and someone who was always eager to lend a hand. Cathy’s greatest joy will always be her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Kurt; son, Eric (Keri) Clark, of Geneseo; daughter, Kady (Chad) Maupin, of Wentzville, MO, and her four grandchildren, Taylor Clark, Ayla Zampogna, and Alisyn and Trevor Maupin. Cathy is also survived by her siblings, Dan (Kelly) Ellis, Richard (Belinda) Ellis, of Cedar Hills, TX, Gary (Carol) Ellis, of Geneseo, Peggy (Don) West, of Geneseo, Patty (Gary) Shaw, of Geneseo, Debbie Montriel, of Silvis, Nancy Chekonik, of Marion, SC, Bonnie (Ron) Jones, of Geneseo, and Linda (Steve) Foley, of Prophetstown.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Eldon and Lucille, and two brothers, Steve and Mike Ellis.
