Catherine White Obituary

Catherine "Cat" White, 76 of Cambridge and Geneseo, IL passed away May 7th, 2026 at Unity Point Hospital, Rock Island, IL. Vandemore funeral home is assisting the family. Cremation will be accorded in a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials can be directed to the family through Vandemore Funeral Home, Geneseo to help with Funeral expenses.

"Cat" was first and foremost a proud mom to Misty Wilson of Geneseo and Anthony White of Georgia. She loved being "Grannie" to Alyssa & Nichole and Otto & Ivan. She truly enjoyed being a "Great-Grannie" to Presley, Brynleigh, Brooklynn and Emmylou.

Raised in Pensacola, FL, she grew up on the beach and was in the USO. She came to reside in Illinois after marrying Wallace White and they planted roots in Cambridge, IL.

She graduated from Black Hawk College, painted murals, created and displayed her yard art for all to enjoy and did face painting at events. She made all occasion cakes for many years, belly danced, helped with school musicals, was part of the creation of Cambridge Main Street and Henry County Tourism, joined the ABWA, worked at the Rock Island Arsenal as a graphic artist, Henry County Sherriff Dept as a dispatcher, was owner of Creative Images Center in Geneseo and lastly owned and worked at CIC YOUR Digital Print Center in Geneseo until July 2025.

She wore many hats over the years and was involved in many different things but loved helping others and being a mom and grandma the most.

She dearly loved her cats she owned over the years. She enjoyed yard sales and Goodwill shopping on the weekends with her granddaughters when they were young and with her best friend Ellie.

She had many special friends over the years, loved the color purple and always had a dream in her heart.

In honor of our mom...

Share a smile, hug a child, help an animal, enjoy an irish coffee, shop at a yard sale, hug your friends and family often and tell them you love them and spread kindness. It's the simple things in life that made her the happiest.

She was greeted in Heaven by her parents, granddaughter Tera and her forever Best friend Ellie.
