Christine K. Dwyer

Christine K. Dwyer, 70, of Geneseo, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Hammond Henry Hospital – Geneseo.  A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023, at Concordia Lutheran Church – Geneseo.  Reverend Stephen Mueller will officiate.  Inurnment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.  A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory - Geneseo Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Susan G. Komen Association (komen.org) and the American Heart Association (heart.org).

Christine was born September 30, 1952, the daughter of Jim and Dorothy (Galle) Fuller, in Geneseo, IL.  She graduated from JD Darnall High School, class of 1970 and went on to Black Hawk College of Nursing, graduating in 1974.  On October 26, 1974, Christine married Tom Dwyer.  Christine started her nursing career at Hammond Henry Hospital; however, she also worked at Good Samaritan and St. Anthony’s Continuing Care.  She loved Nascar and enjoyed touring the tracks and following “her drivers” - Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Chase Elliott.  She also enjoyed watching movies, reading books on her back veranda, and traveling – especially to Disney and the beach.    She was known as “Movie Nana”, loved going to concerts, quick-witted, and she loved to cook for the family – especially her homemade cinnamon rolls on Christmas Eve.  She always had homemade cookies on hand.  Her favorite thing was telling stories about her children and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Tom; children, Kevin (Becky) Dwyer, Jennifer (John) West, Ryan (Megan) Dwyer, and Scott (Marlisa) Dwyer; grandchildren, Tyler Dwyer, Remlee Dwyer, Olivia West, Landon Dwyer, and Daxton Dwyer.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Dorothy Fuller.
