Christopher D. Pacquer of Merritt Island, Florida passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020, at Cape Canaveral Hospital in Florida. A memorial service has been scheduled for Friday, July 9, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory - Atkinson Chapel. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Visitation Catholic School or Abilities Plus in Kewanee, IL.
Chris was born January 7th, 1953 in Geneseo, IL, the son of David and Arlene Moens Pacquer. He married Carol LaVoil in Middletown, Connecticut. They divorced but remained very close friends. Chris was a graduate of Visitation Catholic School, Wethersfield High School and Illinois State University in Bloomington, IL. Chris began his career at the age of 16 at Eagle Super Market, in Kewanee, IL. After college, he was employed at Wakefern Corp. in New Jersey for 24 years. He was recognized by former Governor Christine Whitman for his contribution to the Special Olympics. After retirement, Chris & Carol purchased a gift shop in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Chris loved to read books and enjoyed the beach and the ocean.
Survivors include his parents, David and Arlene; sisters, Susan (Danny) Crabtree, and Kathy Pacquer; nephews, Ryan (Carmen) Crabtree and Andy Detra; niece, Rachael (Dave) May; two great-nieces, Carley Crabtree and Hattie May; great-nephew, Max May; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Florence Pacquer and Gus and Clara Moens.
