Christopher "Chris" S. Owens

Christopher “Chris” S. Owens, 49, of Geneseo, IL, passed away on December 17, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by family. Visitation will be held from 2:00 -5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory-Geneseo Chapel. Private family graveside services will be held at Western Cemetery in Orion, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Chris’s family to be dispersed. Chris was born in Moline, IL, on June 2, 1975, the son of Stephen Owens and Shelley Humphrey. He married Angela Brown in October of 1998, and she still survives. Chris worked as a mason and bricklayer for the union for many years and then became a concrete finisher at Steve’s Nursery for several years. He loved to go hunting, fishing, ride his dirt bike, and play guitar, which he did for several bands. Chris loved his dogs; “Shena”, “Ink”, “Hennessey”, and “Chevy”. He treated them all like his own kids. He especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. They will miss him dearly.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Angie Owens of Geneseo; children; Taylor Brown and Brittany Owens both of Geneseo; father and step-mother, Steve (Theresa) Owens; siblings; Angela Owens of Cambridge, Amber (Nick) Casteel of Cambridge and Brad Sloan of Alpha; grandchildren; Avrie Owens, Savanna Brown, Kierstin Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shelley Humphrey; and grandparents, Robert (Eileen) Humphrey, and Arno (Bea) Owens.
