Clyde “CW” Wayne Palmer, 75, of Cambridge, IL, passed away on March 20, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be directed to the Clyde Palmer Memorial Fund.
Clyde was born on August 18, 1947, the son of Stanley and Millie (Brennan) Palmer. He was a graduate of Cambridge High School. Clyde worked as Highway Maintenance for many years until his retirement in August of 2007. He married Dianne Yarger on April 11, 1970, in Cambridge, IL. He proudly served in the United States Army. Clyde was very involved in the Cambridge American Legion as well as the Cambridge Fire Department. Clyde was a jack of all trades. He worked for Yarger Brothers Elevator, farmed for several years, owned, and operated Palmer Septic Services, and owned and operated Palmer Construction. He was a people person and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory include mother, Millie of Cambridge, IL; wife, Dianne of Cambridge, IL; sons, John (Doug Salmon) Palmer of Oshkosh, WI, David (Angie) Palmer of Cambridge, IL, Mark (Amber) Palmer of Cambridge, IL; brothers, Craig (Jan) Palmer of Cambridge, IL, Roger (Pat) Palmer of Cambridge, IL; grandchildren, Carson and Mason Palmer, Alexandria and Arika Glisan, Keaton Clements; and great grandchild Hadley Rannie.
He is preceded in death by his father, Stanley Palmer.
