Colleen M. Sherbeyn, 51, of Geneseo, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020, at Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport, IA. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel. Reverend Stephen Mueller will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Colleen Sherbeyn Memorial Fund.
Colleen was born March 7, 1968, the daughter of William and Betty (Kuchirka) Powell-Epperson, in Geneseo. She graduated from Geneseo High School in 1988. She married Scott P. Sherbeyn on May 20, 1993, in Geneseo. Colleen worked as an Avon and Tupperware sales associate for over 25 years, an event planner for vendor craft shows, as well as worked at Central Bank and Farmer’s National Bank as a teller, and Powell Realty, Geneseo. Colleen enjoyed spending time with her family and her granddaughter, Addie.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Scott; son, Jason Jenkins, Geneseo; granddaughter, Addison “Addie”; mother, Betty (Harold) Epperson, New Windsor, IL; brothers, Willie Powell, Moline, and Aaron Powell (Cory Hook), Geneseo; her best friend, Dot Bross; and her loving four-legged companion Louie.
She was preceded in death by her father William, her grandparents, and an aunt.
Colleen wished to express her thanks to her many friends and family for their love, friendship, and support through the years.
