Daisey Hannah Woods, 94, of Annawan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at her home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory. Reverend Zach VanDyke and Gary Brown will officiate. Burial will follow at Annawan Cemetery, Annawan, IL. A visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Calvary Evangelical Congregational Church, 323 Main Street, Hooppole, IL, 61258.
Daisey was born June 8, 1927, in DuQuoin, IL, the daughter of Hezekiah and Elsie (Roberson) Yearian. She married Charles Woods on October 10, 1942. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2000. She was an active member of Calvary EC Church in Hooppole, IL. She gave her life to Christ in April of 1968 and has been a devoted Christian ever since. She enjoyed bible study, camping, fishing, and being with her family. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Daisey is survived by two of her three children and their spouses, Richard (Annie) Woods of Greenville, IL, Sharon (Junior) Meier of Annawan, IL, and daughter-in-law, Donna Woods of Boston, MA; and brother, Herman Yearian of Council Bluffs, IA. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She loved her family with all her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Jerry, four brothers, and three sisters.
