Dale Edward Dzekunskas, 51, of Cordova, passed away at his home on Saturday, July 5th, 2025, surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at Vandemore Funeral Home – Geneseo Chapel on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 10 A.M. Pastor Terry Lancaster will officiate. Burial will follow the memorial service.. Visitation will be held from 5 P.M. – 8 P.M. on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Vandemore Funeral Home – Geneseo Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Dale Edward Dzekunskas Memorial Fund, to be distributed amongst his favorite charities.
Dale was born on February 13, 1974, the son of Victor and Terry (Davis) Dzekunskas in Moline, IL. Dale loved spending time with his family, especially his sister Jackie and brother in law Camper, and very special friends, Ritter and Kathy. He was an avid Dave Matthews Band fan and attended many concerts over the years. Dale enjoyed gaming, flying drones, taking photos of the sunset and golfing. He was a competitive black jack player and loved going to Jeff’s to play poker. Dale enjoyed being the guest of honor at Daddy Fest 1 and Daddy Fest 2.0. He always enjoyed watching his favorite movie, Big Lebowski. Dale had a sweet tooth and loved eating Casey’s cookies, double chocolate peanut butter shakes, and Ben and Jerrys half baked ice cream.
Those left to cherish his memory include his father, Victor Dzekunskas Sr. of Colona, IL; sisters, Jodi (Mark) Priddy of Diberville, MS, Jackie (Jim "Camper") Groves of Cordova, IL; brother, Victor Dzekunskas Jr. of Atkinson, IL; nieces and nephews; Carson and Kelsey Kennard, Hannah Priddy, Justin (Taryn) Clark, Annie (Andrew) Hynes, Nathan Clark, Sarah (Steve) McMan, Trent (Sarah) Groves, Christian (Taylor) Dzekunskas, Millie Dzekunskas, and many great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mom, Terry Dzekunsakas.
