Dale H. Unmisig

Dale Henry Unmisig, 79, of Geneseo, formerly of Quincy, IL, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at UnityPoint -Trinity Rock Island.  Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial visitation will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel. Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1119 S. 7th Street, Quincy, IL, 62301.  Inurnment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Quincy at a later date. Dale was born November 17, 1943, the son of Bill and Laura (Reckers) Unmisig, in Quincy, IL.  He graduated from Quincy High School and went on to obtain an associate degree from Quincy University.  On August 20, 1977, He married Sara Roy. She survives. Dale was employed at Moorman Manufacturing as a feed salesman, and then at Combined and Prudential Life Insurance until retiring in 2008.  He really loved bass fishing in northern Wisconsin, woodworking, yard work and remodeling his and his children’s homes. He was a devout member of St. Malachy Catholic Church.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Sara Unmisig; sons, Brent (Cindy) Unmisig of Quincy, and Brian (Penny) Unmisig of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Brad, Bryce, Bailey, Kaitlin, Emma, and CaCee Unmisig; great-grandson, Zayden; sister, Connie Meyer of Quincy; and brother, Kenny Unmisig of Quincy.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Laura Unmisig; sister, Janet Mitchell; and brother-in-law, Larry Meyer.
