Daniel Larry Thompson

Daniel Larry Thompson, 18, of Geneseo, passed away on Tuesday December 12, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospitals, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, December 19, 2022, at First Lutheran Church-Geneseo with Rev. Laura Kamprath officiating. The funeral service will be livestreamed on the First Lutheran Church Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/FirstLutheranGeneseo) and Vandemore Funeral Home Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/vandemorefuneralhomes). Visitation will be held from 1-5 PM on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at Vandemore Funeral Home and Crematory-Geneseo Chapel. He will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery-Geneseo. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Daniel L. Thompson Memorial Fund.

Daniel was born on April 18, 2004, the son of Trevor M. and Wendy L. Thompson in Siberia, Russia. His mother Wendy preceded him in death on December 13, 2018. Daniel was a senior at Geneseo High School class of 2023. Daniel enjoyed working this summer at G AND R Integration Services Inc. Daniel enjoyed playing sports: football, track, and bowling. He also enjoyed spending time in the outdoors at the Lake Delhi cabin boating, water skiing, fishing, UTV’s, snowmobiling and hanging out with family and friends. He especially liked spending time with brother Dennis and kitty “Fluffy”.
