Darren L. Swiger

Darren L. Swiger, 34, of Beaufort, SC, passed away on December 26, 2024, at Hammond Henry Hospital-Geneseo. Cremation rites have been accorded and private family services will be held at a later date. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory-Geneseo Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Palmetto Animal League, 56 Riverwalk Blvd. Ridgeland, SC 29936.

Darren was born on December 1, 1990, in Lemoore, CA, the son of David Swiger and Gretchen Pierce. He graduated from Beaufort High School then went on to receive his associates degree from TCL College in Beaufort, SC. Darren sold real estate with REMAX Realty. He loved to go hiking, gambling, cooking, go cruising, and especially travel and seek new adventures. He was a kind soul that loved his family and never met a stranger. Darren volunteered at Palmetto Animal League Adoption Center in Ridgeland, SC.

Those left to cherish his memory are mother, Gretchen Pierce of Beaufort, SC, father, David (Kira) Swiger of Bluffton, SC, grandparents; Rick (Susan) Pierce of Geneseo and Steve Swiger of Geneseo, half-sisters, Vivian Swiger and Charlotte Swiger, uncles; Josh (Nikki) Pierce and Zach (Kate) Pierce, aunts; Angela Bardsley, Kerry VanNieuwenhuyse and Jamie Ristau, cousins; Anna, Anthony, Quentin and Hazel, and his beloved cat “Marley”.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sharon Swiger.
