David D. Chelf

David D. Chelf, 61, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021, at Unity Point Trinity of Rock Island. A private graveside service will be held at Muscatine County Memorial Park, Muscatine, IA. Vandemore Funeral Homes and Crematory-Geneseo Chapel will be assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

David was born on March 29, 1959, in Muscatine, IA, the son of Bert and Juanita (Hallmark) Chelf. David was a card dealer at the Meskwaki Bingo Casino in Tama, IA for 15 years. He went on after working at the casino to working as farm help for area farmers.  It was something he loved to do and took much pride in. He had a love for sports, especially the University of Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Cubs. David also had a passion for fishing and spending many hours by the water.

Those left to cherish his memory include, parents, Bert and Juanita Chelf (Geneseo); sister, Lesley (Todd) Forret, East Moline; nephew, Conner Montgomery Forret; and niece Gracie Noel Forret.

David is preceded in death by his grandparents.
