David E. Noard, 88, of Geneseo, passed away on June 20, 2026, at Hillcrest Home in Geneseo, IL. A funeral will take place at Concordia Lutheran Church on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 10:30 A.M. Pastor Stephen Mueller will officiate. A private family burial will be held at North Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Vandemore Funeral Home – Geneseo Chapel from 2 P.M. – 5 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Concordia Care Committee.
David was born on June 16, 1938, in Stark County, IL, the son of Earl and Meta (Neuleib) Noard. He graduated from Atkinson High School in 1956. On January 7, 1967, he married, Joy Garwood at St. Paul’s Church in Kewanee, IL. David served in the National Guard for 11 years with the rank of E-7 (Sergeant First Class). David was a volunteer fireman and policeman in Atkinson and served as the Deputy Sheriff in Henry County from 1968-1977. He also farmed for many years. David retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation as a lead worker in 2001. He was a proud member of Concordia Lutheran Church and Haydens Hikers. David loved cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and enjoyed attending many of his children, grandchildren, and nephews’ activities. He enjoyed his monthly lunches with the Neuleib cousins.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Joy Noard of Geneseo, IL; children, Kyle (Marilyn) Noard of Orion, IL, Rhonda (John) Erickson of Geneseo, IL, Nathan Noard of Geneseo, IL, Renee Noard of East Moline, IL; grandchildren, Logan and Ryan Noard of Orion, IL, Reagan and Addison Erickson of Geneseo, IL; brother, Galen (Jane) Noard of Mt. Pleasant, IA; sister in law, Carol Noard Diericx of Geneseo, IL; brother in law, John (Helen) Garwood, Las Vegas, NV.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Meta Noard; parents in law John and Alice Garwood; sister, Carol Noard; brother, Keith Noard; and nephew, Clint Noard.
