Dick E. Rieder, 77, of Geneseo, IL, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Sheffield, IL. Father Chris Haake will officiate. Dick was born on July 2, 1948, the son of Clarence and Edna (Foes) Rieder in Mineral, IL. He graduated from Annawan High School and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in education from Western Illinois University. Dick worked for Howard Jewelers for many years and then became a floral designer at Maple City Florist in Geneseo, where he worked for 25 years. He enjoyed collecting rabbits, crystal glassware, and antiques. As a young boy, he was an altar server and practiced the Catholic faith.
Those left to cherish his memory are special friends at the flower shop.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Edna Rieder.
